Floating Gardens (Ye Chan Loat Ngan )
The Ingenuity of Inle's Floating
Gardens Description Although primarily an agricultural method, the creation and maintenance of the floating gardens are a unique form of 'water-craft' essential to the Intha people's livelihood. These man-made islands are built by densely weaving together water hyacinth, moss, and silt, which are anchored by bamboo poles. This ingenious system allows the Intha to grow vegetables (especially tomatoes), flowers, and fruit year-round on the lake, representing a remarkable adaptation to their watery environment and a profound connection to nature.
